Do you know what? This whole Coronavirus situation is completely fucked up.

  • We have to work from home every day
  • We are stuck at home on the weekends
  • Job insecurity is at an all-time high
  • Job loses keep coming
  • The kids are home every single day and you are trying to get them to do their lessons while you are trying to work from home
  • Trying to keep the kids entertained while not letting them outside (unless you have a backyard)

That’s a fuck-lot of time spent at home with our loved ones in really stressful times. Sometimes, pressure does not create diamonds, sometimes pressure just cracks everything

Hopefully, after this is all said and done, they will still be your loved ones. And you haven’t throttled and murdered each other or said things that you really wished that you hadn’t. We have seen from Wuhan in China, that after the lockdown, the divorce rates have spiked. And we know that no one wants that.

Increased family conflict due to the coronavirus shutdown

So, I have decided to share some tips with you on how to maintain your sanity during the shutdown. And how to help family harmony on point. These tips come under the two main categories that I think that we will experience

  • Anger, Frustration, Resentment and Rage
  • Stress, Fear and Anxiety

But because I have so much that I want to share with you, I am writing them as two separate blogs. This one is focusing on Anger, Frustration, Resentment and Rage.

Click here to read about my tips for reducing  Stress, Fear and Anxiety

But before we get into the tips, there are two key elements that are going to really help you survive this. And they are two of the Four Agreements

  • Don’t Make Assumptions
  • Don’t Take Anything Personally

During this time, there is the potential that we will be highly emotionally reactive. And that we are going to be taking things the wrong way and saying things the wrong way. That’s only natural because it’s a very human thing to do. But, if you follow the mantra of Don’t make assumptions and Don’t take anything personally, it will make these times much much easier.

I would highly recommend reading the book The Four Agreements. As it really does give you great insights and it’s available in print, e-book and audiobooks.

The Four Agreements

It’s only natural that relationship tensions will increase while we are all stuck in close quarters with each other. Our stress levels are going to increase, and when they do, the hormones and biochemicals that get released shut down our capacity for rational thinking. And when we are not thinking rationally, unfortunately, tensions can rise and things can get said that we wish we could delete in an instant.

Here are some tried and true methods that I have found to work to help reduce anger, frustration, resentment and rage

Energy Healing

The best method that I have found that works for reducing anger, frustration, resentment and rage is an unorthodox one. Yet it works miracles. I done this on myself a number of times and it comes up regularly with my clients. And that is to receive an Energetic Healing from Typhon (the Greek Titan). I know that this might push some people’s religious sensibilities, but I am telling you from experience, he is real and he is bloody brilliant at sucking rage out of people.

I know that you hear that quick fixes don’t work. But I can assure you, that this is one quick fix that absolutely does work. I have seen it and experienced it work many many times. If you are willing to give this energetic healing a go click on the link

Acupuncture Points – Locations

There are several acupuncture points that are great for releasing anger, frustration, resentment and rage.

Some acupuncture points are singular, but most points are bilateral, which means they are on both the left and right sides of the body. And that means that you have to activate the point on both the left and the right side of the body. I will clearly indicate which is which

Liver 2 [Liv2]

  • Is my go-to point to release rage. It is an Amygdala point. The Amygdala is our Fight and Flight part of our brain and is one of the key triggers for anxiety and panic attacks
  • The point is easy to find. It’s in the webbing in-between your big toe and second toe (these points are bilateral)

Heart 6 [Ht6]

  • Will help get you out of Fight and Flight mode (also an Amygdala point). In this case we are using it for the Fight mode aspect of it.
  • To find this point, run your fingers down your pinkie finger and palm on the palm side of your hand. Your fingers are going to run over the bumpy bony bit (again with the fantastic medical terminology) and about 0.5cm under the bony bump is Ht6 (these points are bilateral)

Governing Vessel 16 [GV16]

  • GV16 helps with overactive survival (which is when we get too fearful and our thinking capacity turns to mush {you can see that I am getting very technical here}).
  • You find GV16 by running your fingers up the back of your neck, up your spine. When you hit the base of the skull, that’s when you have reached GV16 – it’s just under the base of the skull (this point is singular)

Large Intestine 4* [LI4]

  • This is a great point for letting go. Letting go of anger, resentment, fear, negative thoughts etc. And I think that there will be a lot of stuff that we need to let go of during these times
  • Hold your thumb close to the palm on your hand. Trace down the side of your index finger. 1cm above where the end of the crease (between your thumb and palm) ends is LI4. (these points are bilateral
  • *Do not use this point if you are pregnant

Lung 3 [Lu3]

  • This point is good for releasing anger and frustration
  • It’s on the outside of your upper arm. You need to measure from your armpit to your elbow in thirds. The upper third, on the bicep, is where Lu3 is. (these points are bilateral)

Kidney 9 [Ki9]

  • This point helps with rage and frustration
  • This point in on the inside of your lower leg, about 1cm below the start of your calf muscle. If the measurement between your ankle and the lower section of your knee 13 units, the point is 5 units up from your ankle. (these points are bilateral)

Pls note: It was very difficult to find photos that I could legally put on my website. If you are a visual person (I know I am) send me an email with the points that you want to use. And I will send you photos with the exact locations

Acupuncture Points – How to Find them

Now that we have found all of the points, how do you activate them?

You can hold them – the key is to hold them very very lightly. Use two fingers and apply as much pressure as you would apply to your eyelids. Again, it’s only very very lightly. What you are waiting for is a rolling pulse. You will feel a roll under your fingers. You want to wait until this pulse is even (especially if the point is a bilateral point. Both the left and right point have to be rolling evenly)

Place an essential oil on them – I have a list of suitable essential oils below. My recommendation is to dilute the oil slightly in olive oil i.e. 2 drops of essential oil to a teaspoon of olive oil. And then rub the oil over the point in about a 1cm circle. It’s a set and forget situation. It will keep working until you wash the area. Do not use essential oils if you are pregnant

Place a flower essence on them – You can take the flower essence internally or you can place the essence on the point. This is also a set and forget option

Place a crystal on them – you can tape a crystal to the point/s. I have a list of suit crystals below.

  • If you are going to use the crystals, I do recommend doing this at night and sleeping with them taped to the points, as having them taped to points and trying to go about your day is pretty difficult
  • If you want to activate GV16 with a crystal. I suggest taping it to your pillow (approximately when the point lies when you place your head on the pillow). Tape in down good and go to sleep with it there

Letter Writing

The letter-writing exercise helps us to let go of any anger, resentment, rage or trauma that we might be holding onto.

You will need the following items for this exercise

  • Pen
  • Paper or a notepad
  • Ceramic or stainless-steel bowl
  • Chopsticks (the wooden takeaway kind)
  • Lighter or matches

It works like this

Letter Writing Exercise to Release Anger, Frustration, Resentment & Rage
  1. Find a place where you can write comfortably and that you won’t be disturbed. I realise that this might be a bit hard to do at home. Maybe go to a park and write it out. (do not do this in your bedroom).
  2. This exercise has to be done as a hand-written exercise (you can’t type it)
  3. I suggest using A4 sheets of paper (when I did this, I wrote out 8x A4 pages)
  4. Visualise inviting in the person to whom you are writing the letter to. The person that is currently frustrating you and you want to let that anger and frustration go. Imagine that they are sitting opposite you
  5. Start writing down everything that you want to say to them. i.e. your frustrations, your why questions, how they have made you feel, what you want from them etc
  6. When you feel that you have all of that information off your chest, ask the person if it is ok to let it all go
  7. Then rip up the letter and burn it in the bowl. Using the chopsticks to help ensure that all of the paper is burnt

This exercise will help you let out your frustrations, so that you don’t blurt them out when you’re face to face. You might even find that the exercise dissolves some of the feelings that you have

For me, when I did this exercise, all of my pent-up frustrations were gone the next day (and believe me, I was fuming at this particular person)

Chakras

For anger, frustration, resentment and rage, I am focusing on the Sacral, Heart and Throat Chakras

  • The Sacral Chakra is all about relationships and equal giving and receiving
  • The Heart Chakra is all about love and can wound easily
  • The Throat Chakra is all about how we communicate. Can we speak our truth or do we shut down

When these three Chakras get blocked is when anger, frustration and resentment really rears their ugly heads. So how to clear these chakras. I would recommend either sound or crystals

Chakras for Anger, Frustration, Resentment & Rage
  • Crystals – just place one or two of the above-mentioned crystals under your bed under the Chakra and then set and forget
  • Sound – the Meditative Mind channel on YouTube has playlists for each Chakra with music lengths from 7 minutes to nine hours’ worth. Just choose a length of time that you want and place it under your bed under that particular chakra

The Sacral Chakra is located between our pubic bone and our belly button https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mlyLH_Xyug&list=PLsuCfYXzi5DLFxxBbHxKakOi9y3WaTG-Z

The Heart Chakra is located between our nipples https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DnQ-nsjcs0&list=PLsuCfYXzi5DJsINnbjJeJylI_ksyDUDGf

The Throat Chakra is located at our throats https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rNfKW1hARY&list=PLsuCfYXzi5DJZf8WsUPvx7TIL63vZir3O

Sound Healings

Sound healings are fabulous for reducing anger, frustration, resentment and rage. If you are curious about how it works, here is an article from healthline.com https://www.healthline.com/health/sound-healing#how-it-works

Apart from having a one on one sound healing session, I would highly recommend either Spotify (Premium) or YouTube. Just type in “Sound Healing” into the search bar and you will be spoilt for choice. I personally love Meditative Mind on both Spotify and YouTube

  • Spotify Premium is great because there are no ads
  • YouTube is great because of the vast range that they have on there (but you will have ads). Just make sure you turn the auto-play function off

How I recommend you listen to this music is to play it via your phone underneath either your Sacral, Heart or Throat Chakras

You can use the sound healing to either have a quick power-snooze, an afternoon nap, or to fall asleep at night. It will have a calming effect on your energy field and mind

Sound Healing for Releasing Anger, Frustration, Resentment & Rage

Guided Meditations

Listening to Guided Meditations have a positive effect on your mental and emotional states. Meditation has been used for thousands of years. And scientific research has joined the party in proving its effectiveness. You can read about the Mayo Clinic’s take on meditation here https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/meditation/in-depth/meditation/art-20045858

There are numerous apps you can run on your phones and if you type in Guided Meditations into YouTube you will literally bring up thousands of videos. I suggest that you type in

  • Guided meditation anger
  • Guided meditation frustration
  • Guided meditation resentment

And then choose the length of time you want to listen for. You will find anything from 5 minutes to over an hour

Get Outside and Exercise

WTF??? We are supposed to be staying indoors at home and you are telling me to go outside? Yes, I am! The latest advice from the Prime Minister still allows us to go outside and exercise. So, I would suggest either going for a walk, a run or for a bike ride.

This will allow you to clear your head, get some fresh air and exercise is great for improving your mood. You can read this article by Victoria Health Dept. https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/HealthyLiving/exercise-and-mood

Remote Kinesiology Sessions

If you want something that is more directed towards your individual circumstances, then I would recommend a Remote Kinesiology Healing Session. You get the same benefits from the session that you would get, if you were having the session in person. I have written a “How a Remote Kinesiology Session Works” blog if you are interested in how the process would work

Despite being unsure about seeing Liesl at first (I had never seen a kinesiologist before) it wasn’t long before I started to look forward to our sessions. As I live many hours away from Sydney I was finding it very difficult to get to my appointments (for several reasons including the drought) and by this stage I was finding them so helpful that I didn’t want to miss any. It was at this point that Liesl suggested remote sessions and I thought it’d be worth while giving them a go.

At first I was skeptical as I wasn’t sure how Liesl would be able to connect with me on a spiritual level or be able to do some of the healing, such as the crystals. However I was blown away with her talent. I find the remote sessions just as beneficial as being in her clinic, the sessions are run the same as if you were in the room with her. She is still able to do all the different types of healings and corrections needed. I’m not sure I’d be where I am today without Liesl’s remote sessions
